Queens’ Briarwood neighborhood in Queens, New York is a residential neighborhood of mostly middle-class residents. To the west, the Van Wyck Expressway runs through the neighborhood, to the east is Parsons Boulevard, and to the north is Union Turnpike, and to the south is Hillside Avenue.

In Queens, one of the highest points is found in Briarwood, northwest of downtown Jamaica. This area is approximately bounded by the Van Wyck Expressway (I-678) on the west, the Union Turnpike on the north, Parsons Boulevard on the east, and Hillside Avenue (NY 25) on the south.

The neighborhood is adjacent to Kew Gardens Hills to the north, Jamaica to the south, Kew Gardens to the west and Jamaica Hills to the east. The main thoroughfare is the Main St passing through the heart of the town and connecting Grand Central Parkway to the north and Van Wyck Expressway to the south. The commercial strip is half a mile-stretch in Queens Blvd between Main St and Hillside Avenue.

The Jamaica Hospital Medical Center Dental Clinic and Pediatric Dentistry serves as the lone medical establishment in the neighborhood at 134-20 134th St. While several schools are within Briarwood such as Archbishop Molloy High School New York, Sholom Learning Center – Daycare Briarwood, Renanim Preschool and Summer Camp, J.H.S. 217 Robert A. Van Wyck and Young Women’s Leadership School.

The neighborhood is served by the IND Queens Boulevard Line of the New York City Subway at the Briarwood station.
