North Bay Shore Suffolk

North Bay Shore is a hamlet and census-designated place on Long Island in the Town of Islip in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The hamlet is a suburb of New York City. It borders Brentwood, Bay Shore and Baywood. The hamlet has a total area of 3.2 square miles (8.4 km2).

The Southern State Parkway and the Sagtikos State Parkway form the southern and western boundaries of North Bay Shore, respectively. Much of the northern border is formed by the Long Island Rail Road’s Ronkonkoma Branch. To the east is the Commack Road from the south that turns into Candlewood Road that runs diagonally from southeast to northwest. Manatuck Boulevard runs parallel with Sagtikos Parkway and 5th Avenue. 5th Avenue passes through the commercial strip of the community and exits to Southern State Parkway to the south border.

The area known as Pine Aire is located within the hamlet. Hemlock Park Elementary School is on Hemlock Drive (just two blocks to the left of Manatuck Boulevard). Notable establishments along the commercial area on 5th Avenue include Pep Boys, La Cubanita Deli, Gala Foods Supermarket, Salumed Pharmacy, Centro Legal De Inmigracion, Campos Victoria, El Chalateco Deli, La Excelencia Bakery & Deli, Dunkin’, Tijera De Oro Salon Del Cabello, Pollo Campero, Great South Bay Brewery, Migueleño Restaurant, Deli Pupusas Olocuilta and McDonald’s.

Houses of worship within the community are Iglesia La Luz Del Mundo, Central Islip Spanish Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal MI, Iglesia Cristiana Pentecostés De Bay Shore Del Movimiento Misionero Mundial Inc, and Masjid Darul Quran.

Although no Long Island Rail Road stations are located within North Bay Shore, the Long Island Rail Road’s Ronkonkoma Branch, as aforementioned forms the majority of North Bay Shore’s northern border.
